Return to Music Alive!
After a year’s hiatus, I am back in the editor’s chair of Music Alive! magazine. Our first issue of the 2014-2015 season, dated October, is now on its way to middle and high schools across the country (you can see its cover on your left). This is the 34th season of Music Alive!, which is published eight times a year, October through May, and used by music students and teachers in grades 5-10 as a curriculum supplement. There are four components to what we do: the magazine itself, which is meant for the students; a classroom compilation CD that accompanies each issue and contains licensed tracks relating to the magazine articles; a separate teacher’s guide with lesson plans that also relate to the articles; and a website featuring printable handouts and bonus text, audio, and video content. It’s a pleasure to be providing young people once again with resource material that will help broaden and deepen their understanding and enjoyment of music. I’m also beyond thrilled about who’s going to be on our November cover…but more about that later. In the meantime, if you want to get in touch about anything connected to the magazine, please feel free to drop me a line at mrandall@intunepartners.com.
